Outro: Now Do It Yourself

That’s the whole cycle — eat, digest, and let God grow it. You don’t need permission or training to start; you just did one in your head. Pick a short passage (the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15 is a great first one), and run a full cycle this week. Then do the bravest, simplest thing: invite one person to read the next one with you.

One passage. Three moves. Anyone can lead — if you can ask a question, you can do this.

🍞 Eat it — read, re-read, retell

Read the passage slowly. Read it again. Then tell it back in your own words. Re-reading is the chewing; the retell is the swallow. If you can’t tell the story back without looking, you haven’t swallowed it yet — read it once more.

🥣 Digest it — the four questions

Answer over the story you just retold. Stay in the text — the only rule is “where do you see that in this passage?”

1. What does this teach me about God?
2. What does it teach me about people — and about me?
3. What will I obey this week? — make it specific and datable: a name and a day.
4. Who will I tell? — name one person, and when.

🌱 Grow — God’s part

You planted and watered by eating and digesting. God gives the growth — “neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth” (1 Corinthians 3:6–7). Do the cycle faithfully and leave the growing to Him.
