Belief 1 — Why We Study

We study to grow in faith and obey — not to gather knowledge.

It’s possible to know a great deal about the Bible and be changed by none of it. That’s not what we’re after. We open the Bible to meet Jesus, to trust Him more, and to do what He says. Faith grows by hearing His Word (Romans 10:17) — not by collecting facts about it.

So from the very first study, we read expecting to obey. Knowledge that isn’t lived just fills the head. We don’t eat a meal to admire it; we eat to live. Every belief that follows rests on this one: the goal is faith and obedience, and everything else serves that.
