Eat: Read, Re-read, Retell

The retell gate — the one habit that separates real discovery from borrowed answers.

Before any questions, you have to actually hold the story. Read the passage slowly. Read it again. Then close your eyes and tell it back in your own words. Re-reading is the chewing; the retelling is the swallow — if you can’t tell it back without looking, you haven’t swallowed it yet, so read it one more time. This one habit is what separates real discovery from borrowed answers.

The retell is the swallow.

Try it: Pause the video. Read Mark 1:16–18 twice, then tell it back out loud without looking. Can’t? Read it once more.
